Our oldest campers participate in field trips
In an effort to keep all of our campers and staff safe, and in compliance with current Department of Public Health guidelines, we are unfortunately unable to run our field trips for the 2021 camp season. We hope to reinstate our field trips in 2022!
Mt. Wachusett Hike
In the 4th week of our day camp season, Senior Campers have the option to attend a hiking field trip to Mt. Wachusett. Campers and counselors depart camp on a school bus after arrival and travel to the mountain. The group hikes the Balance Rock/Old Indian trails and then has a picnic lunch at the top. They return to camp mid-afternoon.
In the 6th week of our day camp season, Senior Campers have the option to attend a canoeing field trip to “Boating in Boston” in Auburndale. Campers and counselors, including lifeguards assigned to each group, depart camp on a school bus after arrival and travel to the boat house. The group paddles on the Charles River and stops for lunch at the Auburndale Cove Park and Playground. They return to camp mid-afternoon.
Cradles to Crayons
During the 4th week of camp, CITs attend the Cradles to Crayons field trip in Brighton to volunteer. Before the trip the CITs host a camp-wide drive for items to bring with them. CITs and counselors depart camp on a school bus after arrival and travel to the C2C headquarters. The C2C staff lead our CITs through various volunteer tasks. They return to camp early afternoon.
