Sam Thyne (Community Support Team)

Sam soars into her 13th summer on staff returning as a member of our Community Support Team. “…there’s no better way to spend a summer than hanging out with great kids and some of the nicest, happiest people on earth,” she says. Sam’s role follows two successful summers as Eagle Supervisor, 2 as CIT Co-Leader, and several years on the Waterfront prior to that, which included three years as a Waterfront Supervisor. Throughout her time at Sewataro, Sam’s favorite things about camp have remained the same: building relationships with campers, and seeing them grow and develop new skills and friendships throughout their time at camp.

Sam graduated from Emmanuel College in 2016, with a degree in Art Therapy, and earned her Master’s degree in School Counseling from UMass Boston in 2018. Sam is now a counselor at Bedford High School, and they’re definitely lucky to have her! Sam’s hobbies include painting, music, and cooking, and it should be noted that her finger painting skills never cease to amaze campers and staff alike each year at the Counselor Talent Show!
