Mary returns for her third year at Sewataro, and will reprise her role as Extra, effortlessly floating between tribes and activities, whenever and wherever she’s needed. “I love kids, I love being outdoors, and I’m a big fan of ‘camp fun,’ especially sports, crafts and singing! As a returning staff member, one of the things I most look forward to is the sounds of camp; camp songs, chants, laughter…the sounds of kids and adults having fun together.” Mary holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Framingham State, and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum Development from Boston College. Prior to being at home raising her 3 children, Mary worked in the Watertown Public Schools for 15 years, as a teacher and eventually as the Social Studies Curriculum Coordinator. She was an adjunct professor at Lesley University (teaching Social Studies and Science Curriculum in a graduate program), who spent her summers painting houses and eventually working as a counselor at Drumlin Farm Day Camp. Mary’s hobbies include drawing and martial arts (though not at the same time, she assures us), listening to music, being out in nature and playing sports. Fun fact: Mary is the youngest of 11 children!
