Kate Blanchard, a 14-year staff veteran, says she “always feels at home” at Sewataro. “I love that camp is a breath of fresh air from the world around us— for both counselors and kids. There is no other place where you can experience so much joy and watch kids just be kids.” This year Kate shifts from her previous role as Bear Tribe Supervisor to a Coordinator role within the Leadership Team. “I’m most excited for collaborating with the supervisors and bringing my knowledge as a former supervisor plus the ideas and leadership of the new supies together. I’m really grateful that I’m able to do two things I love this summer: be involved in camp and plan my wedding!”
Kate holds a B.A. in Elementary Education, and a M.Ed in Moderate/Special Needs, both from Boston College. Currently a 5th grade special education teacher in Newton, working with children is Kate’s passion in life. She also enjoys photography, dance, reading, running and spending time with friends, family, and especially with her beloved puppy, Fenway.
