Abby Birdsall (Fox Adventure)

Abby is back for her third Sewataro summer, and says she’s looking forward to stepping into the role of Fox Adventure/Nature Head. “I am excited about this new position because I will get to spend time with all Fox tribes.” (Abby is a former Fox Tribe Leader, so her days were spent with a single tribe.) “I am also excited to explore Nature with the campers, and to watching them try new challenges during Adventure,” she says, adding, “One of my favorite parts of Sewataro is watching campers develop friendships and independence throughout their time at camp…”

Abby is a 4th Grade teacher at Broadmeadow Elementary School in Needham. She is a graduate of the University of Vermont (BS in Elementary Education), and Boston University (M Ed Teacher of Reading). While in college, Abby spent her summers working at various camps, and was therefore delighted to return to these roots at Sewataro. The icing on the cake has been sharing the magic of Camp with her two sons. And speaking of icing…Abby is a great baker and cook, as well as “crafty” person to boot! Her hobbies include gardening, kayaking, running, and taking photos. Proud fact: Abby still holds a swimming record at her swim club in Moorestown, NJ, from when she was ten years old!
