SENIOR
STAFF POSITIONS
- College students, teachers and child-care professionals
General
Counselors
- are
group leaders. They spend each day with the same fifteen campers and they
provide supervision, support and guidance in all aspects of the camp program.
During activity periods, General Counselors assist Activity Counselors.
Waterfront
Counselors -
are Red Cross Water Safety Instructors or
Life Guard Trainers. They teach three instructional swim periods during
the morning and supervise free swim each afternoon.
Activity
Counselors - are instructors who teach one of the camp activities.
They follow three simple precepts: play safely, make it fun, and develop skills.
The program is designed to bolster self-esteem.
Young
Group Counselors -
are specially chosen for their expertise
in working with nursery, kindergarten or first-grade children. They must
be creative and possess superior organizational, leadership and nurturing
qualities.
APPRENTICE POSITIONS - Juniors or seniors
in high school
Apprentice
Counselors - are entry-level positions at Sewataro.
These counselors assist the senior staff in a variety of ways.
